Sharon Funk

Sharon Funk is a teaching artist for Upbeat New Hampshire elementary school semi-private lesson program. She has a private teaching studio for violin and viola lessons in Brookline, NH.  In her studio she teaches both Suzuki and traditional methods to students of all ages and levels, adapting lessons to follow the student’s needs and interests.  Sharon focuses on developing excellence with a strong string playing foundation that students can use to spring forward in all their musical endeavors. She is a firm believer that if you put in the work, you’ll get incredible value out of the experience because music has the power to transform.

Sharon is a member of the American String Teachers Association and the Suzuki Association of the Americas.  She has played with the Catskills Symphony Orchestra and the Seven Hills Symphony.  With a deep interest in pedagogy and how students learn, she attends regular teacher training for professional development through ASTA and the Suzuki Associations.  Her creativity in teaching has led her to develop String-O! Bingo for Strings and Multi-Mouse, a multifunctional teaching tool for violin and viola students, helping them to learn in fun and easier ways.  She is also the founder of Charitea Concerts, a unique live music experience in a tea party format that raises funds for various charities and non-profit organizations.
